Barcelona vs Villarreal 5-0 – 29 August 2011
Here comes the first match of Barcelona and Villarreal in La Liga’s new season. Villarreal will be travelling to Camp Nou, Barcelona to face FC Barcelona on 29 August, 2011. Barcelona will be without their First-choice defenders Dani Alves who has been Suspended, Gerard Pique is having Calf injury and captain Carles Puyol is having knee injury. Moreover, they are also short of experienced back-ups including Adriano and Maxwell. Messi, David Villa and Pedro are likely to start in the upcoming match. Barca failed to score at Camp Nou in just two games in the last season of La Liga. Villarreal will be without their captain, Gonzalo Rodriquez, who is suffering from a Fractured Fibula and is not expected back until October. New Signing, Christian Zapata, will be making his debut in La Liga along with Mateo Musacchio in central defense. Last time Villarreal won at Camp Nou was in 2007-08 season. They had the worst away record last season.
