How To Jailbreak iOS 5 Final Using Redsn0w for iPhone, iPod touch, iPad
Notes:
This is a tethered jailbreak that means you will need to put your device in to a jailbroken state everytime you boot. People who rely on unlocking their device should stay away until further information. You won’t be able to jailbreak iPad 2 with this Redsnow 0.9.9b4.
If you choose to jailbreak you will not be able to get future updates via the OTA (Over The Air)
For the newly released iPhone 4S there is no current jailbreak.
How To: Jailbreak iOS 5 on iPhone 4/3GS , iPod touch 4G/3G and iPad:
Step 1: First of all You will need to restore to iOS 5.
Step 2: Your iOS device should be running on iOS 5, If not Update your iPhone to iOS 5 using iTunes.
Step 3: Now Open Redsn0w (download link below) and select “Extras” and browse for iOS 5.
Step 3: Then make sure that your device is both OFF and PLUGGED IN to the computer before you click “Next”.
Now a screen paper will appear it will guide you to how to enter DFU mode. Hold the power button quickly and then while doing so you have to hold the home button too. After holding for a few seconds let go of the power button but keep pressing on the home button until the installation process begins.
Step 4: Now select “Install Cydia” and then click “Next”. You need to also select other option due to your own prefrences.
Step 5: Wait until you get iOS 5 jailbroken in few minutes.
That’s it folks, you have successfully jailbroken your iPhone iPad or iPod touch on the newly released iOS 5.

Good tutorial, but jailbreaking may not be for everyone.
